Helping a Market Leader Evolve Without Losing Its Core

Overview

Truescribe is a US-based leader in explainer video production — known for its iconic whiteboard-style 2D animations and a client list that includes Microsoft, Walmart, and TED. After years of success, the company developed new strategic products and services, but faced a major challenge:
How do we evolve the brand without confusing or alienating our audience?

That’s where I came in — to solve a very specific strategic challenge through a three-session intensive.

The Challenge

Truescribe’s core offer — explainer videos — was well-established and trusted. But their new services didn’t fit neatly under that umbrella. Internally, they struggled to:

  • Clarify how to position these new offerings

  • Communicate innovation without diluting their core brand

  • Maintain consistency across multiple service lines

They needed a fast, smart, and implementable solution — not a 200-slide deck.

The Approach

I led a three-session strategic sprint with the leadership team:

1. Discovery
We unpacked their current perception, internal tensions, and goals for expansion. I helped the team articulate the emotional core of what made Truescribe trusted — and where that trust might be stretched too far.

2. Strategy
I proposed a brand architecture solution that allowed the original Truescribe identity to remain intact, while introducing a sub-branding system for the new products.
This created space for innovation without damaging legacy trust.
I also defined narrative bridges to help reposition the new offers not as a pivot — but as a natural evolution of Truescribe’s DNA.

3. Assurance
We finalized messaging guides and internal positioning tools to ensure consistent communication across teams, sales, and marketing.

The Outcome

    • Truescribe gained a clear framework for integrating new services without brand confusion

    • Strengthened internal alignment and confidence in launching the next phase of growth

    • Maintained trust with legacy clients while increasing credibility in new verticals

    • The work helped reinforce their brand authority, not dilute it — enabling growth without an identity crisis

+ Need Brutal Clarity?

If you’re looking for someone to decorate your deck with jargon, I’m not your guy.
But if you want clarity, structure, and sparks — let’s go.
